Looking for your next fantasy book? I've listed 10 below that I have read ranging from Dark Fantasy to the Classics. The titles are linked straight to Amazon so you won't have to search :)
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas: I couldn't not put this one in this list even though I'm sure everyone and their mum has read it now. If you are looking for something to ease you into the fantasy world this is a great start. It has romance, challenges and trials, human enters the fae world with a small amount of spice.
The Ever King by L.J Andrews: This book blew me away. Think Pirates of the Caribbean but add magic, forbidden love and of course, there is some spice. It is an ongoing series but second was just released and on KU!
Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber: This book is so whimsical oh my god. Great story that follows the adventure of Evangeline after she asks one of the Fates for help. Very cute and is a finished series.
Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R Tolkien: Amazing tale of Frodo and Sam and the adventure they take to destroy the one ring. Even if you have seen the movie I still recommend reading it as there is so much more in the books. The Audiobook is also amazing.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros: I know you have seen this all over TikTok but yes it is a great book. Think Hunger Games but with dragons and magic. The enemies to lovers in this is intense with a lot of tension and angst throughout.
A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden: This book was unexpected and such a great read. Enemies to lovers, unique magic system, morally grey mmc and a lot of tension that will keep you hooked. The second book is out now.
The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent: Wow this book is amazing and its a finished series! Hunger Games trials but with Vampires, what more could you want. Packed with action, tension, enemies to lovers and spice.
Hooked by Emily McIntire: Dark Fantasy retelling of Peter Pan but Hook gets the girl. I would say this is an introduction to dark fantasy romance but definitely check trigger warnings.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Such an amazing concept for a book. Hidden identities, Vampires, enemies to lovers, shy girl meets a charming guy and the banter is incredible. Packed with action and a plot twist that you wont see coming.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas: Just recently finished this series and wow what a journey. It amazes me how much she planned this series from the first book. Follows the tale of an assassin who has been given another chance at life but first she must win a trial. A great series that just gets so much better as it goes on. I listened to some of the audiobooks that were great too.
Let me know if you have read any of these and your thoughts! Feel free to drop some recommendations for me :)
